Hawaii’s energy sector is transforming from oil to clean energy, creating a growing market opportunity. HREDV is funding 10 companies to develop and demonstrate clean energy technologies across the Hawaiian Islands. HREDV just announced the most recent 5 companies, Referentia Systems, HNU Energy, The Gas Company, Gen-X Energy, and Big Island Biodiesel (a subsidiary of Pacific Biodiesel) on October 19, 2011. Companies are selected for the value of the innovation in solving Hawaii’s key energy problems, the strength of the management team, and the potential for large-scale commercialization.
